Really Like the Insights from Real World Managers

What I like best about this textbook are the insights from real managers. Each chapter features a manager who shares his or her real world insights in little sections dispersed throughout the chapter. I always enjoy reading the responses to the question "What's the best management advice you've ever received?" Some real pearls of wisdom are in this book.

Good book on Management

This is a good book. The authors did a good job in 18 chapters. Chaper 1 is an introduction to management and operations. Chapter 2 gives you a good history on management. Chapter 3 is about organizational culture and environment. In Chapter 4 the authors cover the subject of managing in a global environment. Chapter 5 is about social responsibility and managerial ethics. I just covered PART ONE of the book, which is devided in FIVE parts. Part Two is on Planning. Part Three is on Organizing. Part Four is about Leading. And the last part (Five) is about Controlling. In my opinion the most interesting part is Part Four on Leading. In Part Four you will read about Motivating Employees (Chapter 15), and Managers as Leaders (Chapter 16).

Arrived on time and in good condition. My issues are with the author and publisher. Did they forget how to use a proofreading software? There are tons of grammatical and spelling errors throughout the text. This distracts from reading and trying to remember what I have read. But, again, this is not the seller's fault.
Sciencedummy is wonderful to do business. I have bought several things from him before. Always comes through when I have a learning earthquake.
